United Way of Fairfield County accepts requests for funding on an annual basis. All agencies must be certified by United Way prior to submitting a funding request. Certification packets must be submitted annually by all agencies and are due by the first business day in November each year.
Once an agency has been determined to meet certification standards, a full funding application may be submitted. Funding applications are due by Monday, February 1, 2017. Funding decisions will be made by June for a funding period that begins July 1.
All proposals must focus on services and program activities that take place in Fairfield County. Each proposal must identify at least one "Community Bold Goal" from the "Agenda for Change" to which the funded program will contribute. United Way is committed to working with our many partners in the community and collaborates to make data driven decisions that help us achieve established Bold Goals. In addition, we have assembled a team of 50 community volunteers that assist with reviewing partner applications for funding as well as ensuring that annual impact is achieved.
The United Way will collect data in the areas of Education, Income and Health that documents our progress toward our Bold Goals. Advancing the common good reflects an ongoing commitment to this effort. Our Bold Goals enable us to achieve measurable, sustainable results that will improve lives in our community and create lasting change that strengthens us all.
