United Way of Fairfield County values the trust its donors and other stakeholders place in the organization and adheres to the highest standards in gathering, using, and safeguarding their information. In order to fully understand your rights, we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy. United Way reserves the right at any time and without notice to change this Privacy Policy simply by posting such changes on our site. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting.

We do not rent, sell, or trade donor information to any third parties outside the United Way system.

Community Donor Database:
The information provided to us by you or your employer is used for three primary reasons:
• To manage your charitable gift in keeping with donor intention.
• To send acknowledgements for your donation.
• To keep you informed about our work. 
All information is secure and credit card information is not stored in this database.

Communications:
Periodically, we send electronic communications in newsletter format to our constituents, which include donors, volunteers, and other business contacts. Typically, these communications include information regarding community investment reporting, news, and events, as well as other pertinent information we feel should be communicated to our constituents. If at any time you would like to discontinue receiving emails from us, you may opt out by sending an email to admin@uwayfairfieldco.org requesting to be removed from our email database.

Designations:
If a portion of your donation is directed to another United Way or agency, we provide your name, your contact information, the amount of your donation, and your workplace to the organization receiving your donation. If you do not want us to share your information, please indicate on your pledge form that you wish to remain anonymous. This privacy statement does not bind United Way Partner Agencies.  United Way of Fairfield County cannot guarantee the privacy of donors who choose to designate their gifts.

Online donations:
Online donations are transmitted to a secured server. If you choose to send United Way an email, United Way may retain the contents of your email message, the reply, and your email address as part of ongoing customer service efforts. United Way reserves the right to contact you after you have contacted us and may send future email and/or surveys to you about United Way. You may notify us via email if you wish to discontinue electronic communication.
